Do not use solutions with chlorine, ammonia, fluoro-carbons or hydrocarbons. Do not use abrasive cleaners or high fiber wipes that may scratch the surface.<\/p><table><tbody><tr><td width=\"77\">\u00a0<\/td><td width=\"572\"><p><strong>NOTE: <\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Before cleaning the PC, ensure it is powered off and the mains power cable and USB cable are disconnected.<\/strong><\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><h5><a name=\"_Toc534717943\"><\/a>1.2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Inspecting the System<\/h5><p>Examine the exterior for cleanliness and general physical condition. Ensure the housing is intact, hardware is present and secure, and labelling is legible. Check the cables . If there is any peeling or cracking of the outside insulation, carefully disconnect the cable and replace it with a new one.<\/p><h5><a name=\"_Toc534717944\"><\/a>1.3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Probe maintenance and disinfection<\/h5><h6><a name=\"_Toc534717946\"><\/a>1.3.1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Recommended Procedures for Probe Processing<\/h6><p>Inspect probe cable, connector and grey lens surface. Contacts on the probe connector must be without bends. The surface of probe lens must be clean without tears or bubbles. Check for any crack in the casing which will allow liquid to enter the probe (especially joints such as cable\/connector and cable\/probe). If any such damage is found do not use the probe till replaced.<\/p><p>Use care to avoid getting solution in the probe connector.<\/p><p><strong>Do not wipe the strain relief\/housing joint, the strain relief, or the cable with isopropyl alcohol.<\/strong> Isopropyl alcohol will be absorbed by the silicon, soften it and making it susceptible to damage. <strong>This and any mechanical damage is not covered by the warranty<\/strong>.<\/p><h6><a name=\"_Toc534717947\"><\/a>1.3.2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 General Cleansing for Transducers Used in Non-Invasive Procedures<\/h6><ol><li>After every participant, wipe the ultrasound transmission gel off the transducer.<\/li><li>Wipe the transducer and cable with a dry or water-moistened soft cloth.<\/li><li>Wipe or spray the transducer with:<\/li><\/ol><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/gamahealthcare.com\/products\/?post_types=product&amp;_sft_product_cat=surface-care&amp;_sft_product-sub-category=everyday&amp;_sft_product-brand=clinell&amp;_sft_product-range=universal-range\">Clinell Universal<\/a> antibacterial alcohol-free wipes<\/li><\/ul><p>Or wash with one of the following non-alcohol detergents:<\/p><ul><li><a style=\"font-size: 16px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.asp.com\/en-us\/products\/high-level-disinfection\/enzol-enzymatic-detergent\">ENZOL\u2122 Enzymatic Detergent <\/a>(Cidezyme)<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.metrex.com\/en-us\/metrizyme\">MetriZyme<sup>\u2122<\/sup><\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/mms.mckesson.com\/product\/453608\/Steris-1673BX\">Klenzyme\u00ae<\/a> Enzymatic Instrument Detergent<\/li><\/ul><ol start=\"4\"><li>The cable may also be wiped with T-spray. Do not use isopropyl alcohol on the cable and strain relief\/housing joint.<\/li><\/ol><h6>1.3.3\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Ultrasound gel<\/h6><p>Use only approved ultrasound gel such as Parker Aquasonic 100. 250ml bottles will last approximately 1 month. After this the gel will be less effective and should be discarded. Single use sachets may also be used.<\/p><h5><a name=\"_Toc534717949\"><\/a>1.4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 System accuracy and performance verification<\/h5><p>System accuracy and performance verification may be conducted annually if doubt exists about image quality or distance estimation.<\/p><p>Use a tissue mimicking phantom for evaluation of accuracy and performance of the system. Refer to Manual supplied with the phantom for detailed description of accuracy and performance verification.<\/p><p>During the performance assessment or tests (using phantoms etc) the probe lens may be short-time immersed in water or other special liquid.<\/p><table><tbody><tr><td width=\"77\">\u00a0<\/td><td width=\"572\"><p><strong>NOTE: <\/strong><\/p><p><strong>The System was designed for sound velocity in tissue 1540 \u043c\/sec. For accuracy verification, it is necessary to use phantoms which are calibrated for this sound velocity.<\/strong><\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><h5>2 UltraFit<\/h5><p>The main structure of the headset is fabricated from Nylon P12 and steel bolts. Hook velcro is attached and removable neoprene\/loop velcro pads are affixed to points of contact with the head (crown, temporal pads).<\/p><h6>2.1 Nylon plastic parts<\/h6><p>The probe holders should be removed and wiped clean (see 1.3.2 for disinfectant wipes) after each participant to prevent build up of gel which has overflowed from the probe. Remaining nylon parts should be wiped down with antibacterial wipes as needed.<\/p><h6>2.2 Neoprene pads<\/h6><p>The neoprene pads should be removed and washed or rinsed in antibacterial solution (see 1.3.2 for disinfectant solutions) after each participant. Alternatively, disposable shower caps may be worn by participants, forming a barrier between the participant and the headset.
